Magwegwe West falls under the area of Magwegwe location, an area that was named after King Lobhengula’s senior Induna (Chief) Magwegwe Fuyana. The township constitutes of four different areas; Old Magwegwe, New Magwegwe, Magwegwe North and Magwegwe West. Famous landmark features of this township include: Bus Terminus, Totobisa Beer Garden, KoTimmy, Football Ground, AFM Church, SDA Church, J.W.Mthimkhulu School, AmaSuspect Street and Wrong Turn.
