SAVEMORE, a Maphisa-based supermarket, has initiated a program to establish connections with farmers and community members within the Matobo district. The initiative aims to provide farmers with training in value-added methods and the preservation of fruits and vegetables. In return, the supermarket seeks to incorporate these produce items into its product offerings.
Over a ten-day period, we conducted filming throughout the district with food scientist Makhosi Mahlangu, who was facilitating the food training workshops. Notably, we assisted the communities in installing a solar dryer, which will be utilised for drying and preserving the diverse fruits and vegetables in the region.
